Season 1 of The X Factor Australia ran from 6 February 2005 to 15 May 2005.
It was won by RnB boy band Random who were mentored by Mark Holden. They disbanded a couple of years later after releasing an album and two singles.
Due to poor ratings the network cancelled the show indefinitely.
Production
For this season only those who passed the auditions were put through masterclasses and judges' houses before reaching the live shows. This season was hosted by Daniel MacPherson, best known for starring in Australian soap opera Neighbours.
