Random were a five-member Australian male R&B vocal group consisting of members XY Latu, Donald Tauvao, TJ Tauvao, Wayne Tauvao and Jesse Tolo-Paepae. They auditioned for Season 1 of The X Factor Australia and made it all the way to the final as part of the Groups category mentored by Mark Holden.
Due to the eliminations of The Brothership and Kaya, Random were the only act left in their category. They were crowned the winners defeating Russell Gooley from the Over 25s category mentored by John Reid. They were also the first (of four worldwide) group to win the franchise.
