Marcus Collins is an English singer from Liverpool, Merseyside who finished as runner-up on Series 8 of The X Factor. His mentor on the show was Gary Barlow, who continues to work with him today.

The X Factor

Collins impressed the public with his smooth vocals and cool sense of style, earning him a devoted fanbase. Despite making it to the finale, Collins finished second to the all-female singing group Little Mix.

Post The X Factor

Post-show managed to sign a deal with RCA Records and released his self-titled debut album, which later peaked at #7 on the UK Album Charts, on March 12, 2012. His first single off the album, a cover of the White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army", was released on March 4, 2012 and was a top 10 hit for him. His second single, "Mercy", was released on June 3, 2012. He also tried his hand at acting when he took on the role of Seaweed Stubbs in a 2013 UK touring production of Hairspray. Collins, who left RCA Records in 2013 and is now signed with another label, is now at work on his second album.

  • Prior to auditioning for the show, he was a member of five-piece boyband Eton Road who finished in 5th place in Series 3 of The X Factor.  He joined the band after original member Anthony Hannah left following their elimination.
