Lucie Jones is a Welsh singer, actress and model who auditioned for Series 6 of The X Factor. She finished in 8th place overall and was mentored by Dannii Minogue as part of the Girls category.

BiographyEdit

She was born in the Welsh village of Pentyrch, on the outskirts of Cardiff, on 20 March 1991. She had vocal training from the same person who trained fellow Welsh woman Charlotte Church.

The X FactorEdit

She auditioned in 2009 singing "I Will Always Love You" and was eventually chosen by Dannii Minogue to go through to the live shows. She survived being in the Bottom 2 until Week 5 when she found herself singing for survival against twins John and Edward Grimes. The judges' vote went to deadlock and she was controversially eliminated after it was revealed she had polled fewer votes than the twins.

PerformancesEdit

Post The X FactorEdit

Since the show she has gone on to be signed to a modelling agency and there were plans to release her debut album but it never materialised. In 2015, she appeared in an episode of the English crime drama "Midsommer Murders".

On January 23, 2017, she was shortlisted as an entrant for the UK's national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev and four days later was chosen to represent the nation in May.  Fellow Series 6 finalist Danyl Johnson was also competing for the right to be selected.
