John Adeleye is an English soul singer from London who participated in Series 7 of The X Factor as part of the Over 28s category mentored by Louis Walsh. He was eliminated in Week 3 of the live shows, finishing in 12th place.
Background
He began singing in a choir at the age of 14 and then moved on to giving private singing lessons - one of his students was Oritsé Williams of boy band JLS. In 1998, he formed a duo called Nu-park, which later expanded into a quintet. After they disbanded in 2001, he began writing his own songs. He won a MOBO for Unsung Artist of the Year and released his solo EP Merry Go Round in 2008.
