Fifth Harmony are a five-member American female pop vocal group consisting of members Ally Brooke (born July 7, 1993), Dinah Jane Hansen (born June 22, 1997), Normani Hamilton (born May 31, 1996), Camilla Cabello (born March 3, 1997) and Lauren Jauregui (born June 27, 1996). Initially rejected at bootcamp as soloists in Season 2 of The X Factor USA, they were put together as a group and were mentored by Simon Cowell.

Due to the eliminations of Sister C, LYRIC 145 and Emblem 3, Fifth Harmony were the only act left in their category. They finished in 3rd place behind runner-up Carly Rose Sonnenclar and winner Tate Stevens.

Post The X Factor USA[]

In spite of only finishing in 3rd place the girls went on to become the most successful and influential act in the US syndication's history.

Prior to releasing their debut album "Reflection" in 2015, they released an EP called "Better Together", which peaked at #6 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart - a rare feat for an EP. As a five-piece they released two studio albums (the second named in honour of their formation date on the show). Their single "Worth It" featuring Kid Ink, peaked at #3 on the UK charts, becoming their first hit across the pond. Follow up single "Work From Home", a collaboration with rapper Ty Dollar Sign, peaked at #2 on the UK charts and remains their biggest single outside of the US.

In 2014, they appeared on the eleventh series of The X Factor UK where they were praised enthusiastically for their performance by singers and judges Mel B and Cheryl, but the pair got derided for not being as enthusiastic to Idina Menzel later that night (both cited that they had their remaining acts in the final sing off of the series, announced between the performances of Fifth Harmony and Idina Menzel.

Band member Camilla Cabello announced her departure in December 2016, leaving the other girls to carry on as a quartet. They released their third studio album in 2017 and like its predecessors it was another US Top 5 hit. Following a collaboration with rapper Pitbull, they announced a hiatus to work on solo projects.

Cabello released UK Number 1 singles "Havana" and "Senorita" (With Shawn Mendes), whilst Normani has gathered commercial and critical success, and has regularly joined forces with controversial rapper Megan Thee Stallion, and appeared on her and Cardi B's explicit music video in 2020.
