|Birth Date||2 April 1971|
The X Factor
He auditioned performing a mash-up of Shai's "If I Ever Fall in Love" and Prince & the Revolution's "Kiss". Both Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh voted him through which caused Simon Cowell to storm out of the audition room. He made it all the way to Judges' Houses mentored by Sharon Osbourne in the Over 25s category and his performance proved memorable as he splashed around in the Osbourne's pool while still holding the microphone, which was plugged in. Sharon decided to take him through to the live shows.
Initially he was mocked in the press but after changing his performing style to become slightly more self-mocking he won over the public and even Simon Cowell, who stated that he was a born entertainer even if he was not a recording artist.
In Week 6, he performed the self-penned "It's Chico Time!" coined from a catchphrase he used on the show. He left the show at the quarterfinal stage, finishing in 5th place but went on to score a #1 single on the UK charts with "It's Chico Time!".
Post-The X Factor
Since appearing on the show he has released a few more singles that have proven less successful and branched out into TV and acting. He appeared on the 2010 series of "Dancing On Ice", finishing in 3rd place in the final.
