Britney Jean Spears (born December 2, 1981) is a Grammy Award-winning pop singer and entertainer from Kentwood, Louisiana who first gained notice as a contestant on the popular talent show Star Search and then appeared for two seasons on The Mickey Mouse Club alongside other future stars like Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, and Ryan Gosling. Spears got herself a record deal with Jive Records and has scored such hits as "Baby, One More Time", "Oops..I Did It Again", "Toxic", and "Womanizer".

In 2012 she became a judge alongside Simon Cowell, LA Reid and Demi Lovato on Season 2 of The X Factor USA, where she mentored the Teens category, with her last remaining act Carly Rose Sonnenclar finishing as runner-up to winner Tate Stevens.

Spears announced that she would not be returning to the show on January 9, 2013.
