5 After Midnight, formerly known as 5AM, are an all-male trio consisting of Kieran Alleyne, Jordan "Jay" Lee and Nathan Lewis, who competed in Series 13 of The X Factor as part of the Groups category mentored by Louis Walsh.  They reached the final where they were eliminated on the first night, finishing in 3rd place behind runner-up Saara Aalto and winner Matt Terry.

The X Factor

They impressed the judges at their audition and got through to bootcamp before being selected for Louis Walsh's Judges' Houses. They were the first act to make it through to the live shows and on The Xtra Factor they revealed that they had changed their name to 5 After Midnight.

With the withdrawal of sibling duo Brooks Way and elimination of Bratavio in Week 1 and the elimination of Four of Diamonds in Week 5, they are the last remaining act in their category.

In Week 8, they were in the Bottom 2 for the first time alongside Honey G but were saved by the judges in a majority vote.  The following week, they finished in the Top 2 on the public vote, thus making it to the final where they were eliminated on the first night, finishing in 3rd place.

Post The X Factor

On January 18, 2017, it was confirmed via Twitter that the group had been signed to Syco Music. Their debut single "Up In Here" was premiered on Britain's Got Talent but the performance drew controversy with the accusations that they were miming, which they later confirmed to be true. The single went on to peak at #51 on the UK Charts.

In November they released their debut EP called 'The Sauce' but in January 2018 they confirmed that they had parted ways with Sony Music. It was later revealed that band member Kieran Alleyne had left the band in order to pursue a solo career. They were later joined by BRIT School alum Brad O'Neill.
